Sample Daily/Hourly Report

Overview: I see no great tragedies tomorrow, only some early anxiety and nerves followed by a little confusion or uncertainty that passes by evening. It's not a bad day at all. The single most difficult part of the day will be early, between 1015am - 1045am.

Preview: You are anxious about tomorrow now, but that anxiety won't last; it peaks early in the morning tomorrow, way before the afternoon shooting sessions begin. But if you are still planning to shoot at that private range in the morning, your nerves may get in the way some then. However, your ability to concentrate and focus your attention on details and precision will be very strong tomorrow morning, and you will be a good student then who can learn very successfully, asking the right questions and having good comprehension. Then the afternoon looks a little confused and fuzzy, especially from noon to about 4PM, and you might feel sleepy or unfocused then, and your memory and attention to detail may not be up to
snuff then. Later in the afternoon you relax and feel more comfortable and sociable.

Detail: In the morning tomorrow, there may be some early nerves, and you will feel a little challenged or stressed out around 1030am.

By 11am you are feeling much better, and those good feelings last a good stretch of time, getting stronger until 1230pm, but persisting all the way until 3pm, and that whole period is likely to be rather social and pleasant.

Around 1pm you do find yourself feeling confused, a little disoriented, out of your depth, and/or unprepared, and that feeling fades some before coming back stronger around 4pm.

Around 130pm, you briefly feel strong, powerful, determined, resolute, and capable.

Around 2pm, you briefly feel happy, at ease, and very sociable, and at 3pm, you briefly feel very intelligent, adaptable, and well-informed, and will soak up information like a sponge then.

Your earlier sense of anxiety and uncertainty doesn't last beyond the mid-afternoon. By 5pm your earlier sense of confusion and uncertainty has begun to subside and you start to feel quite confident and adept in your activities, and for the rest of the evening you feel good about successfully integrating something new and unfamiliar into your life.

The evening is generally good, except for a brief and quite minor period of frustration right around 830pm.

The afternoon and evening are rather exciting and adventurous, and by 7pm or so, you are really "getting into" and "getting a kick out of" your activities.

You are liable to be quite wound up later in the evening, and might not get to sleep as early as you should.

Anyway, I see the anxiety you are feeling now, and that disperses early in the morning tomorrow.

Sample Report

You have a very favorable aspect in your chart that has been traditionally taken as a promise that you do not die young. Now, that promise is culturally-relative, meaning that it refers to "young" by today's standards.
I'm not sure what that means, but I generally take it as a guarantee to make it to at least 60 or 65. However, you do have at least one of the classic signatures that indicate an extremely long life, so you could easily make it into your eighties or nineties, and I certainly wouldn't expect you to pass before your seventies at any rate.

You generally enjoy good health, and your marriage and other close personal relationships tend to be healthy and prosperous. You are unlikely to divorce.

Your sun is on the 4th house cusp, which is a pretty big deal. That means that your primary purpose in life revolves around home and family, and specifically assuming a role of leadership and authority within that
context. Parenthood of course fulfilled that role while your kids were at home, but now that they have left, you will find your life evolving to allow you to take on other nurturing, protective, home/family/nesting-type roles. You could easily become a landlord and accumulate properties, for example. However, you tend to be very self-sacrificing in your home-oriented roles, and that might not work too well as a landlord. Having your Sun on the 4th cusp also made your mother seem like a strong and powerful character in your eyes.

With sun in the 4th, you were never meant to go far in a traditional professional career; that was not your path. However, any career revolving around security, banking, or property ownership or property management would go well with this chart, or any business that you could run out of your home.

Your sense of emotional security is tied in with possessions, with money, property, banking, and the acquisition, handling, organizing, and dispersing of materials and valuables. You take all such matters to heart, and find considerable emotional satisfaction when they are in order, but can be disproportionally disturbed when they are not in order.

You are likely to suffer financial losses in your life, possibly including home theft, but there doesn't seem to be any danger of any violence or muggings or armed robberies or home invasions or anything like that in your
life.

Your personal subjective sensitivity is an issue you likely struggle with; you may find yourself fluctuating back and forth between confusing extremes of being too sensitive or not sensitive enough. You tend to stoically
endure elevated levels of stress, chronic tension, and persistent frustration much of the time, and your emotional well-being suffers because of it. But with your Pisces sun, stress management techniques would probably yield very positive results.

Your mother may or may not have had emotional problems. She struggled to maintain order, but her success was stymied due to disruptions beyond her control. She was battered about by a steady pattern of surprises,
disturbances, confusion, and disorder in the world around her, and often felt she had more than she could handle. She was not one that could be shoehorned into a stereotype, and in your eyes she seemed unique,
extraordinary, independent minded, peculiar, eccentric, and at times even rather mysterious. You never fully understood her, but you admired her for ignoring the usual rules and boundaries.

Banking matters tend to go well for you. You prosper financially more after marriage than before it, and would prosper considerably in business, especially in business partnerships. You may find it too easy to go into debt, though, and this could bring trouble.

Your children are strong and capable, but they will face many challenges in life.

You are likely to receive some sort of an inheritance at some point, probably unexpected.

Your Sun and Moon are both negatively aspecting Neptune, so it is likely that alcoholism or substance abuse issues have repeatedly troubled you or your family, although probably not yourself personally.

The next few years (2014 - 2018) look like they are going to be a difficult time for our nation, and you will not escape the challenges that come, although your small town should fare well enough compared to many other places. You are likely to go through a difficult change in your career, employment, or worldly status by summer 2014 or before, although you will not be entirely displeased by it. It is unlikely that you would still have your same position by summer 2014. The four years after that will be a bit of a stressful roller coaster for you, with powerful and challenging ups and downs, but the worst of it should be over by late 2018,
and you will find yourself supremely happy in 2019.

Between 2016 and 2018 especially, your life will change quite a bit. There will likely be at least two major, fundamental changes in your life situation during those three years, so you should get ready psychologically
for that. Some situations and circumstances that are a part of your life now and have been for some time will come to an end during those three years, and when they are over, you will essentially be starting a whole new chapter of your life. During these three years, you may find yourself feeling somewhat weaker or less vigorous than normal, and any health issues that crop up during that period should be addressed without delay. You are likely to have some health issues crop up during this period, or start a new chapter in your life as concerns your health and fitness. It would be an excellent period to make any positive health-related changes that you wish, because you will be uniquely able to make changes in your life now, finding it much easier than usual to start afresh on new roads.

I would expect some significant changes to occur in family matters during these three years, and home- and family-related issues will become a greater focus of your attention and efforts then. You will register major new beginnings in home and family matters, possibly including such things as new family members, new properties, new residences, or major home improvement projects.

During the whole period from 2015 - 2019, you will celebrate some excellent and meaningful victories and successes in career and other matters, so your new beginning during those years will certainly not be all bad, but like I said, it will be a roller coaster of extreme highs and also some pretty severe lows. You will not be able to fully plan successfully for this transition period, because at least some of the changes and developments that come will come right out of left field and surprise the hell out of you. We will need to look at all this closer as we move into 2014.

You are liable to go through a pretty stressful time this spring and early summer of 2013, feeling like you are under a lot of pressure, and that pressure will likely compel you to make some decisive moves or decisions.

You are likely to see quite alot of change in your job or career status over the next few years; from 2013 through 2017 your professional status and worldly standing will go a period of extended turbulence. Multiple and inconsistent career and employment changes are likely during this entire period, and they will likely come from a number of causes. You will be inclined to initiate sudden changes on your own, but at the same time your bosses and other authorities are also likely to act in irregular and atypical ways that also impact your status and standing. Changes in your professional standing will arise as a result of irregular or unexpected
actions by bosses and authorities, yes, but also you can expect that bosses and authorities themselves will also be going through some very irregular and disruptive changes now. So there's that. The one thing you can count on during this whole period is that no given status quo situation is likely to last very long. It may feel like one change or upheaval coming right on top of another during this period, making it difficult for you to maintain your equilibrium. Don't expect the pattern of career or professional turbulence to have come to an end until this series is finally over in mid to late 2017. Career developments that occur during this period are likely to be sudden, unexpected, and usually at least somewhat disruptive to your own status quo. On the other hand, you will be in a uniquely empowered and even inspired frame of mind during this period, in which you are ready and willing to take bold and creative chances, going off on exciting and unfamiliar new directions in your career path. You will be attracted to new, unconventional, and atypical career paths and career actions. You will find it hard to comply with and conform to the status quo during this period. You will surely demand greater freedom and independence in career matters now, and it will be increasingly difficult for you to knuckle under to oppressive conditions in the workplace during these years. Your professional reputation will likely be impacted during this period, and you will be seen as more independent, nonconformist, and edgy than previously, but also more creative and original. You will become more and more of a rebel in your professional attitudes and behaviors, and will not succeed in playing it safe or seeking to avoid rocking the boat. The key periods of the most acute changes in your career and professional standing during this window are summer 2013, spring 2015, and spring 2017, although the whole period will bring increased levels of novelty and abrupt changes in professional matters. By the end of this four-year period, you are likely to be in a very different place professionally than you are now, with a very good chance of finding yourself in a professional situation that you feel suits your own individual needs and talents far better than currently. But the transition from here to there is likely to be fairly choppy, and will throw you well outside of your comfort zone at times.

Starting in the middle of that window, you should experience a series of very positive and advantageous developments in your career and professional matters (summer 2014, summer 2016, and winter 2018/2019). During these periods, you will be very lucky in professional matters, and could enjoy
raises, promotions, new better jobs, and similar successes at such times.  You are likely to go through a disappointment over the next two months (April - May) that could leave you feeling a bit brokenhearted, heartsick, and disappointed. Finances also will likely suffer a loss now as well. But your mood picks up quite a bit by June, when you are feeling quite warm hearted and sentimental, even though you'll be under a lot of pressure and demands then.

2019 is going to be a fabulous year for you, one of the best of your whole life. Since this occurs right after the big change in your life between 2016-2018, it would appear that change turns out to be very good for you. Everyone has some good years and everyone has some bad years, but a lot of people don't ever have a year as good as what you'll go through in 2019.

That doesn't mean that your life will be gravy from that point onwards, no. 2021-2022 will be hard to get through, for example. But that's the terms we live under on this planet, we have to be willing to put up with the bad stuff in life so we have a chance to enjoy the good stuff too.

Expect surprising/novel changes and increasing pressures/demands in career matters this summer, probably by August. This summer will be a very busy time for you; your schedule will be full and life will be bustling, which is fine, but you will be more liable to feel irritated, get involved in arguments, and have bad luck with cars and traffic. All that subsides by autumn and early winter, which should be a pretty good and happy time for you, when many positive developments occur in your life, and your mood turns very cheerful. The holidays in particular this year should be go very well for you. A number of very promising and hopeful doors could open up for you in the second half of 2013, and you will be in a good frame of mind to take
advantage of them when they do.

You are really not likely to get along well with bosses and authorities in mid-2014. You will have loads of drive and ambition then, and will be putting a ton of work in on your projects and duties, but compromise,
cooperation, and diplomacy will not be your strong suits then, and you won't feel that those in positions of power over you are playing fair. You could find yourself working hard on some home-related project now, and workmen could be in and around your home.

Beware of being wasteful with money around April 2013; you are in a mood to be somewhat indulgent, but may end up spending more than you want to get less than you were hoping for.

You've been under pressure lately, and a lot of demands have been made on you. Pressures will increase until peaking around June, then back off a bit in July before ramping back up again in August, after which an easier extended period of low pressures and low demands will begin and last a while. After August, your anxiety levels, fears, and pressing concerns should dial down quite a bit, and you can ease into a pleasant autumn and winter.

You should take a vacation in July, which will be an excellent time to seek some peace, pleasure, and R & R. You will be very happy and loving then, and will enjoy socializing pleasantly with women. You will be attentive to and pleased with your physical appearance then, and so July will be a good time to shop for clothes, get new hairdos, and so on. It will probably be a sort of expensive month, and money will certainly be going through your fingers then.

A substantial change, or possibly a very stressful and challenging mission/goal, in your professional status or situation is supposed to occur sometime between May 2012 - May 2014, and I don't think it has fully
happened yet. During this whole period, you are afflicted by issues of confusion, uncertainty, and intrigues in and around the workplace, and that of course has indeed been the case, and I would expect it to continue to be the case through May 2014, but there should also be a substantial status change or career milestone that occurs during this window as well. It could either be your doing or your bosses', but it will be a bit of a jolt when it occurs, and both before and after, you will feel troubled by confusion and uncertainty regarding your status. Basically you don't feel your career situation is reliable or on solid footing, through this whole period, and any change in status that occurs now will not do much to change or disperse that feeling of things being too uncertain to be counted on. During this two-year period, you are likely to willfully engage in secret behavior involving your career or bosses, and much of what you do is done behind the scenes. But at the same time, your bosses and other authorities are also liable to have their own secrets, deceptions, and hidden activities, which in general will not be in your own best interests. This period of secrets, deception, and confusion afflicting your career situation will persist until May 2014 or just before, and after which, the troubling atmosphere of secrets, confusion, and uncertainty in and around the workplace will come to
an end for you.

After that, the next two years, from June 2014 - June 2016, will find you with a strong and robust career, with all the work you could want, but without any drama or mysteries or intrigues.

Solar Returns
Your March 2012 - March 2013 Solar Return had Saturn rising with an afflicted Sun in the 6th house, which basically said that it would be a downer of a year with a lot of stresses at work and much hardship, setbacks,
and disappointments for you with little successes. The only bright spot was a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the 8th, which bode well for you financially and in business.

Compared to that, your March 2013 - March 2014 Solar Return is a real breath of fresh air, and signals a significant upturn for you in many areas, including the work situation. The Moon is conjunct Jupiter in the 6th,
unequivocally promising happier days for you over the next year insofar as work and employment are concerned. The Sun is conjunct Venus and square the Ascendant, telling us not only that you are very happy now, but that you make a bit of a display of yourself being so happy, bright, and cheerful. You will likely be extra concerned this year about your physical appearance, and will likely spend extra time and money on clothes, hair, and so on. You seem to become a bit of a performer this year, and seem to have a lot to say, and do so dramatically and even a bit flamboyantly. I wouldn't be at all surprised if you got a new vehicle this year, and if so, it will be exciting, bold, and sporty, and not at all typical or conservative. Communication and transportation play a much expanded role in your life over the next year, and any new job or career situation will likely revolve around these themes. Your life gets a lot sexier this coming year, and you feel happy, joyous, and grateful by the time next March rolls around. However, with this chart you are liable to be quite self-indulgent, and may dial back a degree or two on your own self-discipline. It is really a good chart. There are virtually no troubles at work in this chart, so I must anticipate that they will disappear from your life shortly after your birthday next week. This chart is excellent for your marriage and love life, which should be all smiles, warmth, and affection during this cycle. You are liable to have an active social life over the next twelve months, but filled more with neighbors and casual friends and associates instead of a closer group you have a lot in common with. Income through work and employment should increase during this cycle, but what's perhaps more important, your spirits are really lifted by changes and developments involving work and employment. You find a lot of very fulfilling emotional satisfaction at work over the next twelve months, and get a lot out of going to work each day. Health should be good this whole period, and the people
you deal with at work should be very optimistic, upbeat, helpful, and generous.

Lunar Returns

Your Mar 7 - April 3 Lunar Return (LR) has many planets in the 8th house, indicating a focus on financial matters for you this cycle, probably mostly positive. You may be making larger purchases, taking out loans, receiving extra income, or getting new goods about taxes. Home and family matters trouble you now, duties, responsibilities, and conditions there are a drag on you and may limit your social life some. You probably wind up this month feeling you spent too much money. I don't see any dramatic changes or developments that affect your job or career status in this chart.

Your April 3 - May 1 LR period will be more of a drag. Life feels harsh now, and you are all business and have no time, energy, or patience for less important matters. Something out of the ordinary is going on now either with your kids or at work, and it is exciting and has you all wound up about it. Any work or career-related developments go well for you now, and finances seem better now too.

Your May 1 - May 28 LR pretty much sucks, but the bright spot is that all is well insofar as home and family are concerned. Financial troubles could seem severe now, and you are feeling unprepared, confused, and uncertain. A stressful and unsatisfying month.

Your May 28 - June 24 LR period is much better. The sense of confusion and uncertainty is gone, as is the stressful financial dilemma. The big bright spot this month revolves around absolutely wonderful developments involving friends and relatives that you take great delight in, but home and family matters are a drag once again, and you need to buckle down and get serious there again this month.

Your June 24 - July 22 LR sees you going head to head with someone else in a personal power struggle. Matters of serious import are at stake in your career this month, but despite all that, you are in fine spirits now, cheerful and feeling super.

Sample Introductory Report II

Mike is an extremely powerful, determined, disciplined, willful, resolute man who will not live an easy life, but will be the master of his own destiny.  He suffers a lot in this lifetime, and this hardens him into someone who can exhibit great leadership in times of crisis, and someone who can be counted on to make the difficult decisions when necessary, but also someone who does not particularly excel at public relations, cooperation, compromise, or diplomacy.

He has loads of patience, but probably his most prominent trait is decisiveness.

He gravitates towards challenges, crises, and difficulties. He is most comfortable when he is able to act autonomously, and is not naturally wired for working within the framework of a partnership, and such situations will be more challenging and less successful for him.  But he does do well working as part of a group, team, or organization.

He has a recurring pattern of butting heads with or challenging authority, and he does not enjoy an easy or smooth relationship with bosses, parents, or the government; however, he does consistently and almost effortlessly profit financially from those relationships.  Money flows both into and out of his hands like water, but he never really lacks in funds.  Under the right circumstances, he might disregard or even break the regular conventions, rules, laws when it comes to money, possessions, and finances, and when he does, he is successful at it.

At some point in his life, Mike will suffer a grievous loss of professional status or prestige possibly due to some sort of scandal, or a sharp conflict with his bosses or other authorities.  However, he will not suffer much financially from that setback.

His natural air of authority and innate leadership skills consistently attract attention to him from others, and he increases in status, authority, and duties and responsibilities as he grows older.  He naturally and effortlessly inspires both fear and confidence in others.  He becomes known as a dangerous and powerful but also reliable man, who not flinch from difficult situations that others could not stomach.

Mike is a very serious and driven man, and cannot be happy unless he is involved in worthwhile pursuits.  Forced by circumstances into too much down time, recreation or free time, he could become his own worst enemy and unconsciously fall into self-destructive behaviors. He is used to the authorities in his life keeping a firm grip on him.

He is ambitious, and does not shy from attention, and is used to being the center of attention.

His old man was either a hard ass, or lived a very harsh, cruel, and troubled life, or both.

Above all else, Mike believes in power, strength, control, and authority, and identifies with and is attracted to all people and things that exemplify those traits.

Mitch enjoys a very vibrant and down to earth social life in the form of thrilling social groups or organizations that he gets involved with and throws himself into with great energy, enjoyment, and gusto.   He is quite comfortable in group settings, and profits from them.

Emotionally, Mike is open minded, adventurous, and generous, and his wife and family seem to prosper, especially financially.  He is not tied down by tradition or social custom, and I don’t believe he suffers extreme emotional trauma or grief at least insofar as his wife and family are concerned.

When his children marry, their spouses will become very large issues for Mitch, but not in a bad way.  He will bond very closely with them.

Mike has multiple elements in his chart which raise the possibility that he will develop heart related illnesses in his lifetime, so he needs to be vigilant in monitoring and responding to any medical red flags that arise.

He could suffer injuries to the head and face. However, that being said, I don’t actually see many indicators for violent conflict in his life. He seems to usually be in charge and in control of things.

Sample Introductory Report

You are a double Aquarius; your Sun and Moon were both in Aquarius when you were born because it was a New Moon that day.  Getting that double dose of Aquarius means that you will likely relate to and agree with the traditional writeups about “Aquarius” a little more than most folks do about their own sun signs.  The New Moon was in the 5th House, telling us that a great deal of your time, energy, and passion in life revolves around fun and games, recreation, and  children.

Normally, folks born under a New Moon never divorce, but you have an angular Venus-Saturn square that said otherwise. Even so, you are inclined towards long-term relationships, and are unlikely to have many shorter ones.  You took your marriage very seriously, and were very dutiful and assumed many responsibilities, but it tended to be a “tough love”situation where you didn’t feel you got as much as you gave, and in which you felt restricted, denied, and unappreciated.

You are a classically attractive woman, not overweight, with angular features and modest or conservative tastes in attire. Home is peaceful and proper, but not as warm or as inviting as you’d like it.  You may have a thing about being too warm or too cold most of the time.

You find it easy to be yourself around others, but much of your socializing may revolve around professional matters.  Your spouses, and your social circle in general, tends to be older, conservative, professional, and/or serious, and frankly not a whole lot of fun.

You are honest and natural with the world about who and what you are and how you come off socially, and do not try to hide your true nature. More importantly, you are honest with yourself as well, and have the integrity not to betray your own calling or ideals.

You are close with your kids and try to keep the lines of communication open, but have problems doing so.  You love to read and probably prefer escapist material.  Your kids seem to always drain your bank account, and you have money problems stemming from confusion, disorder, or deception.

Your children could become writers or artists, more likely fiction than nonfiction, but they may have troubles with substance abuse that causes you headaches.

You are a hard worker, but jobs and employment likely involve some strife.

I don’t see you ever being the victim of any violence or terrible car accidents. Your biggest problems seem to revolve around marriage and children.

You likely do not naturally have an abundance of energy, and may suffer from weakness or fatigue.

The men in your life are workers, and you may encounter them at either your employment or theirs. You are not particularly competitive and may have little interest in sports, even though you do like games quite a bit.

Marriage prospects improve with age.  There may tend to be an age difference in your relationships, either real or simulated.  One partner acts as the older authority while the other acts as the younger student or subordinate. When young, you likely were attracted to older men, but when older, that may reverse.

Sample Basic Report

He has Venus sextile Saturn, so that’s where he gets where he isn’t super-expressive with displays of affection.  That same aspect also makes him take the subject of love very seriously, and made him wait until he was older, and it will also make him very stable, dependable, reliable, traditional, and consistent in matters of affection.  Venus is rising in the first house, the only planet in the first house, telling us that love is a focus and a priority for him, and he identifies with his love life and thinks of himself as a peacemaker.

With Venus being the only planet in the 1st and the Moon being the only planet in the 10th, his personal life, his family, and his woman will virtually always take top priority in his life.  This placement gives him excellent PR skills, and could lead him into another public- or people- oriented career after he leaves the military, but not likely anything that puts him too directly in the public eye, as he is much more inclined to work behind the scenes.

With Sun in the 12th  and not aspecting the10th house, he is not likely to find much success in politics, but he could certainly have his own bar, restaurant, club, or hotel with this chart.  He has mad accommodation skills. His Moon is conjunct the Midheaven and square the Ascendant, giving him a natural, down-home feel with people, and a whole lot of common sense, natural instinct, and intuition that he relies on a lot, both in his career and his personal life.  He gives off a feeling of being extremely stable, solid, and reliable.

Although his Ascendant is closely trine to a Mars-Uranus opposition and that does make him identify with and play well with some real wild and crazy soldier-adventurer types, all that Venus and Moon in his chart makes him much more diplomat than warrior himself.

And with that Taurus Moon on the Midheaven, the day will come when this man’s top priority will be building a family.  That Taurus Moon will also make him put financial stability at the top of his priority list as well, and I would think with that Venus rising and exalted Moon on the Midheaven that he will never have to go without too much in life.  He will never be homeless and he will never starve.  His mental health is good.  Nothing ever really turns him inside out in life.  He is a materialist, and feels most secure and comfortable when his back account is padded.

Career, professional status, and having a project to work on is always going to be important to him.  He identifies strongly with his career and the authorities in his life, and sees his career as one of service.   He could never really retire and just spend the remainder of his life sitting around doing nothing.

I don’t see him dying young. I do see him having traffic, travel, vehicle, or other transportation-related accidents, but he seems to actually survive them in style.

There will be some instability in his finances at various times, possibly due to legal matters.  He could suffer thefts, possibly vehicle thefts, at some point.  He likes fast, thrilling, and unusual vehicles, and has several dangerous travel experiences.   His siblings suffer unfortunate accidents, possibly sudden bloody experiences.  He could get an inheritance, but I wouldn’t expect it to change his world.

He is good at his job, but is also damn lucky at it as well.  He is quite proud of his work, but doesn’t share it with many.

Many or most of his friends are either older than he is, or are people he met professionally.

His 2011-2012 deployment stands out pretty strongly in his chart; I don’t see anything that harsh happening again.

I do see where he was really unhappy last summer; it is pretty surprising that your relationship survived that bit going on in his chart right then, and it says a lot that it did.

He has some relatively minor twists and turns in his life over the next year, but the next big thing that happens in his life will begin in late 2014 and climax in summer or early fall of 2015. 2015 will be a very good year for him, one that delights him no end, and one that brings what he feels is one of the biggest accomplishment milestones of his life.  2015’s major events will occur during two time windows: (1) around the first week of May, and (2) between mid-September and late October.

Will he be deployed again? Based on this birthtime, I don’t think so, at least not anytime soon.  He could go some military-related gatherings/events in or around February 2014, but I don’t see that as being an event of any extended amount of time, and in April he is mostly in a pretty good mood.

Saturn is opposing his Moon this year, especially in late May and again in early September, but in a lesser way for most of this year.  This will put him in a very serious mood where he takes his private life and personal relationships very seriously, but it will cause him to hesitate and wait and be cautious and not jump into anything until he feels everything is in order.  This is not a year when he will do anything careless with his personal life.  After Saturn moves away from his Moon in September, he may become more hopeful and optimistic about making future plans.

Technically, promotions are a possibility in his chart anytime between now and late this fall, and frankly I would be surprised if his professional situation doesn’t register multiple improvements and upgrades over the course of this year.  However, if he gets a promotion in March, it doesn’t look to be anything that makes much of a lasting impact on the outward structure of his life. However, in March’s Lunar Return he does have Saturn sitting smack dab right on the Ascendant.  Now that means that once March arrives, he is going to go through a serious attitude change. He is going to get real hard nosed and determined, taking on a very professional, no nonsense, nose-to-the-grindstone demeanor. He’s not going to have much time for socializing, and he may feel very overworked, burdened, tired, and troubled. It will be a month where he feels he has to really toughen up to get the job done.  It won’t be much fun, and he won’t be in a very good mood.  However, he doesn’t feel threatened or endangered. I don’t know enough about what a promotion in his situation might entail to know if the above sounds like one or not, but certainly SOMETHING happens that really changes his demeanor between February and March. And Saturn can bring increased duties and responsibilities, so that would fit too. But at the very least, he doesn’t seem to be spending any of his time in March actually celebrating a promotion.  But it may be a “Alright, off to work with you right away then” sort of thing.

Is a Spiritual Revolution Approaching?

Julian Jaynes (February 27, 1920 – November 21, 1997) was an American psychologist, best known for his book The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind (1976), in which he argued that ancient peoples were not conscious in the way we understand the term today. Jaynes argued that a seismic shift occurred in the way the left and right hemispheres of the brain communicated with one another right around 3000-4000 BC, during, as it so happens, the astrological Age of Taurus.

Prior to this shift, peoples all over the globe mysteriously reported hearing the Voices of the Gods speaking to them inside their own heads. After the shift, they no longer heard those voices. Prior to the shift, they did not have the capacity to discover/invent the wheel, writing, or iron. After the shift, they suddenly started making all these discoveries and inventions all at the same time.

It is my own theory that Jaynes stumbled upon just one occurrence in what is a series of such occurrences, one such occurrence happening every six thousand years or so, during the Fixed Ages (the Age of Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio, and Leo). I am writing a book about this theory, suggesting that mankind undergoes collective seismic shifts in how our minds function, at regular intervals. These mental shifts would be so profound that people on one side of a shift can't really understand the people on the other side of a shift at all, because their minds were so different.

Just as there are four seasons in a year, so too may there be four Great Seasons in the 26,000 year-long Platonic Great Year. Given that we are roughly 6,000 years from the last shift, when writing, the wheel, and iron working first appeared, I am anticipating another such shift sometimes in the next few hundred years. I'm not expecting it to be real sudden, possibly occurring over a hundred years or so. But once we are on the other side of that door, the humans of that era would be thinking with minds that function very differently from the way our minds work today, so much so that they might not even be able to fully comprehend our perspectives or thought processes, much the same way that today's scientists have so much trouble understanding some of the stuff we find in the archaeological records prior to 4000 BC.

I don't see the transition our species went through in 4000 BC as simply having lost something. We both lost AND gained. We evolved. And when we move further into the Age of Aquarius, we may do it again. Once again, we will lose some element of the mental capacity we now enjoy, while acquiring some new abilities or awareness. The previous fixed "Season" was Leo, lasting from -11250 BC to -4750 BC. It is fitting that the season of Leo, the sign of kings and rulers, may have been the high point for humanity's communion with the ancient "Gods", and that the next season, Taurus, lasting from -4750 BC - 1750 AD, was much more a materialistic time for us.

During the transition from the season of Taurus to the season of Aquarius, it seems likely that humanity's economic systems might go through quite a change.

Multiple Crises in America in January 2014

In September 2013 I posted a prediction that January 2014 would bring a "brief but acute crisis" for the USA.  It turned out that January brought a whole string of brief acute crises. Overall, over 40 people died in a series of tragedies and disasters across the nation, hundreds were wounded, billions of dollars were lost, and the lives of over 200 million people were disrupted. None of these disasters and tragedies lasted very long, but the whole month was just a more or less continuous series of emergencies of the US.

Just as January began,  the nation was plunged into a historic cold snap when a record breaking Polar Vortex descended on the US.  Massachusetts, New York,  Tennessee, and New Jersey all declared state emergencies when at least sixteen people died in a massive winter storm across the Northeast. At least 49 record lows were set across the nation on January 7th. Affecting the US east of the Rockies and as far south as central Florida, this storm resulted in heavy snowfall and record cold temperatures across the nation, affecting over 187 million Americans and causing business, school, railroad, and road closures across much of the nation, as well as several thousand flight cancellations. This storm was called "the worst weather event for the economy since Superstorm Sandy".

A second Polar Vortex descended on the nation on January 21st, bringing heavy snow, strong winds and frigid temperatures to over 100 million people from North Carolina to the Midwest. Once again, thousands of flights were cancelled and schools and roads were closed. In northwest Indiana, this frigid storm caused a massive 30 vehicle crash on Interstate 94 that involved over a dozen semi trucks and killed three and injured dozens.

On January 28th, a third storm hit the US, dropping snow and ice from Texas to South Carolina, creating a terrible mess in cities like Atlanta and Chattanooga, where drivers abandoned their cars in the middle of the streets by the thousands and spent the night sleeping in stores, schools, and restaurants.  Thousands of flights were again cancelled across the nation, and nine deaths were attributed to the storm, and supplies of propane and salt were running out in several areas. On January 29th, the National Guard was deployed in Atlanta to help with the chaos.

In addition to all the above crises, all the following also happened in January:

Jan 1: A three-story apartment building exploded in Minneapolis.

Jan 7: Four were killed in US Air Force HH-60 Pave Hawk crash in England

Jan 8: Two died when a Navy helicopter made an emergency landing.
Jan 8: One died in a avalanche in Colorado.

Jan 9: A crisis in West Virginia began when the state's water supply was contaminated by a chemical spill.
Jan 9 : One person was shot in a school shooting in Jackson Tennessee.

Jan 13: A retired police officer shot a man dead at a Florida theater.
Jan 13: One person was shot in a school shooting in New Haven Connecticut.

Jan 14: Two students were shot in a school in Roswell, New Mexico

Jan 17: Two students were shot in Philadelphia.

Jan 20: One student was shot in a university in Philadelphia.
Jan 20: Two died in a Nebraska feed plant explosion.
Jan 20: Two died in an Oklahoma industrial explosion.

Jan 21: A man was killed in a shooting at Purdue University.

Jan 22: A biodiesel complex exploded in Mississippi.

Jan 24: One man died in a shooting in a school in South Carolina.

Jan 25: Three were killed in a mall shooting near the US capital.

Practicing Astrology is an Act of Faith

The practice of astrology is an act of faith. Making clearly articulated and timed predictions is an act of faith. Astrologers don't know why this stuff works, we have no control over how it works, and if it stopped working tomorrow we couldn't explain that either. We are really flying blind, operating as it were on instruments alone. Making a prediction is like that office game where you willfully fall backwards and just trust that the people behind you will catch you before you hit the ground, except with astrology, it's not other people saving you from crashing to the ground, it's the universe itself.

What a rush!

I’ve been studying astrology for 36 years, but somehow I’ve never gotten used to it. Whenever I recognize a prediction depicted in a chart, there is still some breathless anticipation until it is confirmed, and after all this time, it is still the most exhilarating thrill to me to experience these predictions coming true.

Astrology is thrilling to me. It is a total rush. When I was a kid I used to dream about what a blast it would be to seen have Superman flying around up in the air, or to have witnessed Jesus performing one of His miracles 2000 years ago. Practicing astrology is the same sort of rush. By everything I was taught in school, this stuff absolutely should not work, and yet it does. How cool is that?

No one knows why astrology works. No one does. There are many theories, but no proof.  In my book, it is just miraculous and I leave it at that.

Obama's Stars

Obama just keeps getting stronger and more forceful and assertive through 2014, and does not give up or accept defeat on any front at this time. Obama is in a very undiplomatic mood from now through summer 2014, much more interested in aggressively exercising his own strength and forcing his way through against resistance than in bending, cooperating, and accommodating others.   He's feeling very angry and passionate alot now, and his wife is much more of a handful to deal with now too.  But he's not particularly unhappy, and his spirits are strong.

However, Obama’s mood changes after summer 2014, and he is far less happy, social, and easygoing after that; even though he remains very energized, he starts to get more shaken up emotionally after 2014.  Obama feels almost invincible and quite driven through 2014 however, and his political strength, authority, and clout are at their maximum in the winter of 2014 - 2015, when he pushes his limits very aggressively.

But then the tides turn. After November 2014, Obama's opponents become very active and violent, catching him by surprise and causing him much distress. Trouble first arrives around January 2015, the beginning of a struggle that will try Obama's soul for most of 2015. Obama's first major loss in office arrives in March 2015 and is deeply troubling to him, and he becomes emotionally distressed, erratic, and increasingly unhappy after that.  This will be an acute crisis period for Obama, which could develop into war or other violence that starts by May or June and continues to at least July, and leaves him feeling restless, endangered, depressed, and deeply saddened through the whole of 2015. The remainder of 2015 has its ups and downs, but one of the worst low points for Obama will come late in the year, around the holidays. Whatever crises come Obama's way in 2015, he survives them and responds very aggressively, not pulling his punches or in any way restraining himself against his enemies.

His wife also has troubles of her own in 2015 and 2016.  Michelle suffers terrible loss and grief in 2015 and 2016, especially in Feb-Mar 2015 and Oct-Nov 2015. Obama’s political and international opposition grows weaker in 2015-2016, but also more unstable and extremist. Obama makes some radical moves in 2015 and 2016 that shake things up and disrupt the status quo, moves that prove very damaging to his opponents. From summer 2016 through all of 2017, he’s in a far more foul, dark, unhappy mood.  He completes his second term without death or impeachment, but the summer of 2016 is very troubled and disappointing for him. He is not disappointed with the outcome of the 2016 elections, but 2017 does not go well for him.

Obama’s life changes far more in 2019 and 2020 than it ever did when he was President.

Michelle Obama was born with an afflicted birthchart, with Sun, Moon, Ascendant, and Nadir all conjunct malifics. In traditional astrology, this would be read as indicating a short life.  As the first and second Lunar Returns after she was born were also both afflicted, it is unlikely that she will live into her 80's, but there is no danger of her passing before the end of her husband's second term.   The next big change in her life after leaving the White House will begin in 2021-2022.

Moving From the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius

Some consider the clash of cultures between Islam and the West to be the number one issue in the world today. Others point instead to the destabilization of the Middle East; others point to decreasing world oil supplies;  others point to the proliferation of nuclear or other weapons; others point to economic issues like the Great Recession, banking practices, or multinational corporations; others point to spying and the loss of civil rights; others point to climate issues like Global Warming; and still others point to environmental issues like Fukushima.

These are some of the many cracks in our world today.  Which crack is the most dangerous?  The true danger is that there are so many cracks at the same time.  They collectively constitute too much weakness in the foundation of our civilization.  And what is the foundation of our culture today? many might disagree, but I would say that it is faith.

All our major problems today today certainly boil down to faith.  We don’t trust the Muslims, we don't trust the Iranians, we don’t trust the bankers, we don’t trust the CIA, we don't trust the president, we don’t trust the scientists, and we certainly don’t trust the corporations.  We don’t trust the world’s oil to last and we definitely don’t trust Japan to protect us from Fukushima’s radiation.

The Age of Pisces began right around when Jesus Christ was said to walk the earth, and ever since He was here, humanity has wrestled mercilessly with itself over the question of faith, which is appropriate, because the sign of  Pisces is supposed to be all about faith.  Today, of course, the Age of Pisces is almost over, and before humanity is free to move on to the next Age, the Age of Aquarius, I wonder if we will be tested to see how well we learned Pisces’ lesson.

On astrologers

Unless you study astrology yourself, or frequent an astrologer, you probably have some misconceptions about what it is. A proponent of astrology would tell you that the stars in our skies reflect conditions and circumstances on earth, and astrology is the study of that reflectivity.

If you ask astrologers why that reflection exists in the first place, the answer to that question belongs to philosophy. While different astrologers have different philosophies about the origin and nature of that reflectivity, many of them would say that the way the universe looks to you at the moment of your birth essentially reflects the way you (your life) looks to the universe. In any case, the same source that created this universe must have also designed that reflectivity.

Our culture, of course, doesn’t encourage our best and brightest to study this subject, which is perhaps why some scientific tests of astrologers have failed to yield positive results. Except for the rare anomaly, the majority of people who look into studying this subject often have very limited capacity to master it.

I have studied astrology since 1978, and for 35 years I have watched it working as advertised. I’m here to tell you (and show you) , it’s the read deal - this legendary connection betwen heaven and earth is authentic and demonstrable. But I will also say in the same breath that the study of astrology is and always will be an imperfect effort. No astrologer will ever be able to predict everything that happens in a person’s life with complete accuracy. The reason for that is that studying astrology is essentially like trying to decipher God’s shorthand, and no human mind is ever going to be fully up to that task.

But that is not to say that we can’t make out a bit here and a bit there, and that’s pretty much what astrologers do. And that effort, I feel, is as noble as anything a person can do, because it brings one face to face with the realization that s/he has a Creator who had a specific plan for his or her life. And that, I think, is a pretty important notion to plant in folks’ minds.

What Your First New Moons Say About the Rest of Your Life

Over the years, I have heard a number of astrologers make vague assertions about the importance of the Moon-conjunct-Moon aspect in the secondary progressed chart.  They typically described it as a key turning point that came around every 27-28 years, and some were even astute enough to recognize it as a “lunar return” in the progressed chart.  But that’s where the discussion generally ended.  No one went on to mention that those “lunar returns” were not just abstract events in our calculations, but that they actually occurred in the skies over our heads when we were infants.  Modern astrology has forgotten that, in the Classical Age, astrologers in the Middle East paid very close attention to those first personal "new moons" in an infant's life. The first lunar return in a child's life doesn’t arrive in our secondary progressed charts until we are around age 27-28, but the actual lunar return itself occurred in the skies when we were one month old - it was our first lunar return!  It is the exact same event, so it should be the same chart.  Just like any other lunar return, each SLR, or secondary progressed lunar return, has its own unique nature, and each has its own chart that we can study.  This is also true in tertiary progressions - the subject’s first tertiary lunar return (TLR) shows up around his second birthday. And again, it’s the exact same chart. So, thanks to secondary and tertiary progressions, the very same chart reappears on as many as three different occasions over the course of the subject’s life. For example, the subject’s first lunar return, coming 27 days after his birth, rules the second 27 days of his life, and the second 24 months of his life, and the second 27 years of his life. Coming two months after he was born, his second lunar return then rules the subject’s life from around days 55-82, then again from about age 4-6, and still again from about age 55-82.  His third lunar return rules his fourth month, his first years in grade school, and his life after age 82

Because our lives are continually revisiting the same chart pattern in this way, if the infant had any sort of major crisis during his second month of life, a good astrologer should be able to anticipate, even without looking at any charts, that the child would also be in danger of  going through a major crisis between ages 2-4, and still a third crisis as an adult between ages 55- 83, because the three periods would have an innate connection with one another, being parallel reflections of one another from the perspective of the individual.

Because the Moon moves so slowly in the secondary progressed chart, most of us can only hope to live through three SLRs over the course of our lives, since the fourth SLR doesn’t arrive until around age 110.  That means that we have a set of no more than four charts (birthchart = age 0-27; first SLR = age 27-55; second SLR = age 55-82; third SLR = age 82-110) that together plot out the entire course of our lives in 27 year long, generation-sized chapters.  These charts correctly reflect our changing fortunes as the decades pass by; they describe our changing careers, health, relationships, and passions. They show when we enjoy our greatest victories as well as when we suffer our most traumatic losses, when we thrive and when we stumble.  They even provide a  tool for measuring the length of life; the SLR charts with the greatest afflictions to the Sun, Moon, Ascendant and Midheaven tend to bring the most acute crises of the subject’s life and health.

The TLRs do exactly the same thing, just on a smaller time scale, with every chart providing a comprehensive snapshot of a two-year window in our lives.  The first five years of a subject’s life will contain all the TLR charts they  will live through, as the child’s 48th lunar return will be his TLR for ages 96-98.  These charts are pretty straightforward; if one TLR has a well-aspected Venus in the 7th and the next TLR has an afflicted Saturn in the 7th, one can reliably predict that the subject’s marriage is going to go well in the first period but then take a nosedive in the second.

Let’s explore some examples. President Gerald Ford lived through three SLRs in his life, in October 1940, January 1968, and May 1995.  His first SLR had Sun in the 12th house, correctly indicating that he would remain out of the spotlight between 1940-1968, even though the Sun square to Midheaven and Mars and Saturn in the 10th insured that he would quietly build a strong career during that time.  His second SLR, which covered his time in the White House spotlight, had Moon conjunct Ascendant and Sun conjunct Midheaven, insuring that he would come into public view and achieve career prominence during that time.  His final SLR had Saturn conjunct the Ascendant and Sun highly stressed in a T-Square with Mars-Pluto opposite Jupiter, all of which correctly foreshadowed his death in 2006.

Ford’s TLRs are equally instructive. When he first ascended to the Presidency and very generously pardoned Nixon, his October 1972 - October 1974 TLR featured Jupiter conjunct Ascendant opposing a Sun-Venus conjunction.  During his difficult, stumbling, and unpopular years as President, he was operating under his October 1974 - November 1976 TLR that had a quadruple Ascendant-Mars-Neptune-South Node conjunction opposing  Uranus.  And when he lost the Presidential election of 1976, he was under his November 1976 - November 1978 TLR that had  Pluto and Saturn square the Midheaven, and Sun in a T-Square with a Mars-Uranus opposition.  And finally, when he died in 2006, he was under his July 2005 - July 2007 TLR with a New Moon, and a triple Saturn-Neptune-Midheaven conjunction that squared the Ascendant.  The New Moon in Ford’s last TLR is typical, I have found it very common to see New Moons, Quarter Moons, and Full Moons in a subjects’ final SLR or TLR, as well as severe afflictions to the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, and Midheaven. An afflicted New Moon is something I’ve seen quite often in the final SLR of a subject’s life, and should always raise concern when encountered.  Elvis Presley’s 1962 SLR had a New Moon conjunct Saturn in the 8th house in effect when he died in 1977.

Senator John McCain’s first SLR in January 1964 was in effect when he was shot down over Vietnam, injured, captured, tortured, and made a prisoner of war for six years.  That chart had Mars conjunct the Ascendant, with an afflicted Neptune in the 1st in a T-square with Saturn and Jupiter, and an even more afflicted 6th House Moon in a grand cross with Pluto, Uranus, and Venus.  But thanks to a strong grand trine between Sun, Moon, and Midheaven McCain not only lived through the ordeal, but kept his honor intact as well, refusing an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer.  McCain’s second SLR occurred in May 1991, and was in effect during his failed 2008 Presidential campaign.  That chart featured a severely afflicted grand cross, with Moon conjunct Ascendant opposing Pluto, all squaring a Sun-Midheaven conjunction opposing Uranus. With such a highly energized Sun-Midheaven conjunction, it is no surprise that he was in the election, but being such an afflicted chart, it is also no wonder that he lost. But with all four majors - Sun, Moon, Ascendant and Midheaven - being afflicted by  two malefics, this chart bodes poorly for the remaining years until this SLR cycle ends in September 2018.  McCain has three TLRs between now and then, in March 2012, April 2014, and April 2016, and while they all feature an afflicted Moon, the April 2016 TLR contains an absolutely dreadful Full Moon T-square, with an  8th House Sun-Pluto conjunction opposing a Moon-Mars conjunction and squaring a Saturn-South Node conjunction. Whatever that turns out to be, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to go through it, nor would I advise a life insurance company to cover McCain for the period that TLR covers : 2016-2018.

President Obama’s first SLR occurred in November 1988, and featured the Sun conjunct Pluto and square Moon.  This is a strong indication that he would become tremendously empowered during this period of his life, but it is also dangerous enough of an aspect to raise concerns about his mortality while it is active (1988-2016).  Should he survive it, the next SLR in March 2016 contains no serious concerns about mortality, indicating that if he is still alive in March 2016, he should live to at least age 82 when his third SLR arrives. Obama’s TLR of August 2008 featured both Venus and Jupiter straddling the Midheaven, an obvious reflection of the fabulous celebration of his election victory that November.  His September 2012 TLR also has Jupiter conjunct Midheaven, along with Moon conjunct Venus and Mercury and Node conjunct Ascendant, which correctly pointed to his second term election victory as well.

George W. Bush became President in November 2000, four months before his very promising March 2001 SLR arrived with its 5th house Moon conjunct both Venus and Jupiter. But these return charts seem to begin manifesting their effects as much as 11% ahead of schedule, so it is no surprise that he won that contest. As that 2001 SLR contained no serious afflictions to the Sun, Moon, Ascendant or Midheaven, he seems all but certain to see his next SLR in 2028.

Pope Benedict XVI  was elected to the Papacy during his November 1981 SLR period, which featured a Saturn-Ascendant conjunction in a grand trine with a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in the 4th and a Venus-Mars conjunction in the 8th.  This third and presumably last SLR of his life began in March 2009 and features a Sun-Pluto conjunction square Moon, so there is little hope of him living long enough to see his next SLR in 2036.  His current TLR (2013-2015)  is seriously afflicted, with a Saturn-Ascendant conjunction in a grand cross with an opposing Pluto and squaring Moon opposite a Mars-Uranus conjunction.   This chart correctly reflected that this would be a difficult period for him (the Vatican Leak Scandal followed by his sudden abdication of the Holy See), but because the Sun is not afflicted in this chart, he should survive it. If so, his February 2015 TLR is terribly afflicted with yet another grand cross (Sun-Pluto conjunction opposing Saturn and squaring a Moon-Uranus opposition), so that would also be a period of elevated distress for the pontiff, but substantially more dangerous to him personally due to the affliction to the Sun in that chart.

When Muhammad Ali won his first heavyweight championship, he was under the influence of his June 1962 TLR, which featured a Sun-Mars conjunction square Jupiter, and a Midheaven-Saturn-Uranus triple conjunction in a grand trine with Mercury and Venus on one leg in the 2nd and Moon on the other leg in the 6th.  Years later, under the influence of his December 1982 TLR that had a Full Moon Eclipse with Sun conjunct Jupiter and Pluto, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Both Martha Stewart and Bernie Madoff had afflictions to the Midheaven in their progressed returns when they were convicted and sent to prison. Madoff’s 1993 SLR had Uranus and the South Node conjunct the Midheaven, and Mars conjunct Sun, appropriately reflecting his fall from a life of privilege into a prison cell. But the Moon is sextile the Sun in that chart, indicating good health, so I would expect him to at least live long enough in prison to see his next SLR in 2020. When Stewart was convicted of conspiracy and obstruction and sent to prison in 2004, she was under the influence of her December 2002 TLR, which featured a Moon-Midheaven conjunction that was opposed by Mars and Saturn on the Nadir, and an 8th House Sun squaring Pluto.

Rush Limbaugh’s current SLR contains a very distressed New Moon Eclipse conjunct Mars, opposite Saturn, and square Uranus. This severely afflicted SLR arrived just five months before Limbaugh was arrested for prescription drug fraud in 2006, and seven years before Limbaugh’s show lost several national advertisers when he called Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a "slut and a "prostitute".  However, that may not be the end of his troubles, for Limbaugh’s current SLR has such a severely afflicted New Moon that it suggests he might not live to see his next SLR in 2033. Between now and then, he has a number of afflicted TLRs, one that rules from May 2012 - May 2014, then a series of two TLRs that together rule from June 2018 - July 2022, and a final TLR that rules from August 2026 - September 2028. None of those periods is liable to be particularly kind to him.

Of course, an SLR New Moon doesn’t always indicate mortality. When Ross Perot got rich in 1968, making $220 million virtually overnight, his Dec 1957 SLR was in effect, a chart that featured an 8th House New Moon conjunct Pluto.  When he sold his company to General Motors in 1984 and became a billionaire, he was already under the effect of his May 1985 SLR that featured a quadruple conjunction of Ascendant, Moon, Jupiter, and Pluto, all square a Venus-Uranus opposition, with a 2nd House Sun conjunct Neptune thrown in for good measure.

Still, it is quite common to find severely afflicted TLRs and SLRs in effect when people die suddenly or violently. John Belushi’s final TLR in October 1981 had Sun opposite Neptune, and Ascendant opposition Moon and square Mars and Saturn, appropriately reflecting his drug-related death in March 1982.  Sonny Bono’s final SLR in September 1989 had a Sun-Uranus conjunction opposing Mars and T-squaring Pluto, and his final TLR in May 1996 had Sun opposition Mars in a T-square with the Ascendant, both properly reflecting his sudden skiing death in January 1998.  Whitney Houston’s final SLR in November 1990 had Sun conjunct both Uranus and Pluto, with Ascendant opposite Saturn and squaring Neptune, while her final TLR in August 2010 had a quadruple conjunction of Ascendant, Mars, Uranus, and Pluto, all opposing Saturn, while the Sun was widely conjunct an 8th House New Moon. James Dean’s final TLR in August 1955 also had a severely afflicted Sun, conjunct Mars and Saturn, opposing Pluto, and T-squaring Uranus. Jeffrey Dahmer’s 1987 SLR had Saturn conjunct the Ascendant, opposing Mercury and T-squaring a Moon-Mars conjunction, a brutal alignment that appropriately foreshadowed his conviction in 1992 and murder in 1994.  His January 1991 TLR had a quadruple 12th-house conjunction of Uranus, Mars, Pluto, and the North Node, reflecting both his murderous activities in 1991 and his prison sentence in 1992.  And as is all-too-common in a subject’s final TLR, his January 1993 TLR had a severely afflicted Sun, in the 8th house, opposing Saturn and T-squaring Neptune.

With John Denver’s natal chart featuring a quadruple conjunction of Ascendant, Mars, Uranus, and Saturn all squaring the Moon, his fatal airplane crash should have come as no surprise to astrologers, because that natal chart was an accident waiting to happen.  He rocketed to stardom between 1971-75 and then died unexpectedly in October 1997.  His May 1971 SLR contained clear signs of his coming success, with the Sun opposing Jupiter, Pluto, and the North Node in the 10th house. His next SLR didn’t arrive until October 1998, but because these return charts come into effect a little early, it was already in charge at the time of his demise in 1997. That fatal chart contained a horribly weak and afflicted New Moon that was squaring Mars, Saturn, and Uranus in the 1st House.

Eighth house afflictions in particular come up a lot in subjects’ final progressed returns. Marilyn Monroe’s final SLR in September 1953 featured an 8th House Sun-Pluto-Node conjunction squaring a Mars-Uranus conjunction.  Similarly,  Jim Jones’ final TLR in May 1978 had an 8th House Moon conjunct Uranus and square Pluto, along with Sun conjunct Saturn and  a quintuple conjunction of Ascendant, Neptune, South Node, Mars, and Jupiter.  Jones’ final SLR in September 1958 had doom written all over it, with Pluto and Jupiter conjunct the Ascendant, opposite Saturn, and T-squaring a Moon-Uranus-Node conjunction.

Princess Diana’s fairy-tale wedding occurred under her December 1979 TLR, which had a very romantic Pisces Venus opposite the Ascendant, with the added glamor of Sun trine Neptune, and an empowering Moon-Mars-Jupiter conjunction trine the Midheaven. Her accidental death was reported under her first SLR of November 1988, which contained a wide Full Moon with Sun conjunct Ascendant opposition Jupiter and Saturn and T-square Neptune, while Moon was conjunct the South Node and opposite Uranus.  Curiously, the April 1996 TLR in effect at the time of her reported death in August 1997 does not seem to be consistent with death. Neither the Sun nor Moon are afflicted; in fact, the Sun is widely trine a triple Moon-Jupiter-Midheaven conjunction, and the Ascendant is in a grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune! The only real concern this chart has is Uranus and Pluto on the Nadir and opposite Jupiter, but that is nowhere near enough to account for an early violent sudden death.  If one was to go by this chart, one would have to wonder if Diana’s death was faked, allowing her to escape the public spotlight into a life of greater freedom and autonomy. Indeed, the Sun-Jupiter opposition in her SLR for that period reinforces that suspicion, as does her solar arc Jupiter trine Sun coming exact within just two weeks of her reported accident.

After studying these progressed lunar returns for a number of years, I am convinced they are very powerful and reliable tools. These progressed return charts are intuitively easy to study, and unlike secondary progressions which require the chart to be rectified to within a minute or less for true accuracy with the all-important Ascendant and Midheaven aspects, progressed returns are quite forgiving of minor birthtime inaccuracies. Whether the subject was born at 6:02 PM or 6:08 PM, his TLRs and SLRs will still be essentially the same.  TLRs allow us to identify the major themes going on in a subject’s life in a two year period, and SLRs allow us to compare those short-term threads with the larger themes that crystalize over much longer, generational-sized stretches of time in a subject’s life.  I cannot recommend these progressed returns highly enough, and place them only below the natal chart itself in terms of importance. In my own work, I always look to the progressed returns first to set the stage, and only then examine the progressions, directions, and transits within the context of these return charts.
